Breakthrough Infections Following mRNA SARS-CoV-2 Vaccination in Kidney Transplant Recipients

COVID-19 vaccination effectiveness is lower in kidney transplant recipients. While overall mortality did not differ between vaccinated and unvaccinated groups, mRNA-1273 showed better outcomes than BNT162b2 in breakthrough infections.

- The mRNA-1273 vaccine shows higher clinical effectiveness than BNT162b2 in KT recipients experiencing breakthrough infections.
- Further research is needed to confirm these findings, considering new variants and booster doses.
