- Microscopic parasite clearance was achieved by day 7 in all cases after switching to quinine and clindamycin.
- Two patients recovered fully, while two others developed multiorgan dysfunction, septic shock, and succumbed to the illness.
- Artemisinin resistance could not be definitively confirmed due to the unavailability of gene testing facilities in the study area.
