    Background:

    • Accurate immunophenotyping is crucial for lymphoma diagnosis and subtyping.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To assess the feasibility and reproducibility of immunophenotyping lymphoma specimens after air express transport between institutions.
    • To evaluate the impact of transport on B-cell and T-cell antigen expression.

    • 39 lymphoma cases (26 B-cell, 13 T-cell) were air-expressed as snap-frozen sections on slides.
    • Immunohistochemistry was performed using a common panel of 20 antibodies against B- and T-cell antigens.

    • Overall agreement between pre- and post-transport immunophenotyping was 93.3% (624/669 determinations).
    • Interinstitutional agreement for T-cell antigens was 94% and for B-cell antigens was 93%.
    • Despite minor discrepancies in specific antigens, the overall phenotypic profile (B vs. T, subset stage) was consistent for all 39 cases.

    Conclusions:

    • Long-distance air transport of snap-frozen lymphoma sections is a feasible method for immunophenotyping.
    • High reproducibility in immunophenotyping supports the potential for multi-institutional collaborative lymphoma studies.
    • Minor discrepancies observed may be attributed to antigen loss, reagent variability, or methodological differences, but do not affect overall diagnostic classification.
