Abstract:
The relevance of the study of behavioral disorders in children and adolescents with intellectual disability is determined by the fact that the problem is at the intersection of different disciplines (psychiatry, psychology, pedagogics, sociology, criminology). Also, there are difficulties in analyzing the interaction between biological and social factors in etiology of such disorders. The review article discusses various aspects of behavioral disorders in children and adolescents with intellectual disability - the historical background, prevalence, etiology and pathogenesis, clinical picture. The authors point to the need for a new approach to the classification of behavioral disorders in intellectual disability.
