Summary

Liver macrophages, including Kupffer cells, show diverse phenotypes in non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). Single-cell RNA sequencing reveals their complex roles beyond inflammation in NAFLD and non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) pathogenesis.
