    Summary

    Nevus comedonicus, a rare skin condition, can present with epidermolytic hyperkeratosis. This finding suggests nevus comedonicus should be recognized as a dermatosis with this specific histologic pattern.

    Background:

    • Nevus comedonicus is a rare congenital skin anomaly.
    • Epidermolytic hyperkeratosis is a distinct histopathologic finding in certain skin conditions.

    Observation:

    • A 7-year-old girl presented with linear nevus comedonicus on her right upper limb.
    • Histologic examination of biopsy specimens was performed.

    Findings:

    • The biopsies revealed characteristic changes of nevus comedonicus.
    • The histopathology also demonstrated epidermolytic hyperkeratosis.

    Implications:

    • This case suggests that nevus comedonicus should be considered among dermatoses exhibiting epidermolytic hyperkeratosis.
    • This finding expands the understanding of nevus comedonicus histopathology.
