    Background:

    • The patient received 100% oxygen via face mask at 2.5 atmospheres absolute pressure.
    • Complete epithelialization of the thalassaemic ulcer was achieved within three weeks of commencing HBOT.

    Implications:

    • Hyperbaric oxygen therapy presents a promising alternative treatment for recalcitrant thalassaemic ulcers.
    • This case highlights the potential of HBOT in accelerating wound healing for complex vascular-related ulcers.
    • Further research into HBOT protocols for chronic wound management is warranted.
