Background:

  • Mesenchymal chondrosarcoma (MCS) is an aggressive, ultra-rare bone sarcoma.
  • Conventional chondrosarcoma typically follows a less aggressive clinical course.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate prognostic factors, treatment modalities, and patient outcomes for MCS in Australia.
  • To analyze survival data including overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS).
  • To inform treatment decisions and guide future clinical trial designs for novel therapeutic strategies.

Main Methods:

  • Retrospective analysis of 22 patients diagnosed with MCS between 2001-2022.
  • Data collected from the national ACCORD sarcoma database, including demographics, clinicopathological variables, and treatment details.
