Modulating the Excitability of Olfactory Output Neurons Affects Whole-Body Metabolism

Altering olfactory bulb neuron activity using CRISPR gene editing can improve metabolic health in mice. Enhanced neuron excitability reduced obesity and improved glucose tolerance, suggesting a link between olfaction and metabolic homeostasis.
