Genetic pain loss disorders, like congenital insensitivity to pain (CIP) and hereditary sensory and autonomic neuropathy (HSAN), result from over 20 gene variants affecting nerve function. Understanding these genetic pain loss mechanisms offers new therapeutic targets for chronic pain.
