Catechol-O-methyltransferase activity in individuals with substance use disorders: a case control study

Soluble catechol-O-methyltransferase (s-COMT) activity in imprisoned individuals with substance use disorders (SUD) correlates with drug dependence severity and impulsivity traits. This finding may inform new pharmacological treatments targeting dopamine pathways for addiction.
