    Summary

    N-monomethylation of phenylisopropylamine derivatives did not yield amphetamine-like activity, except for methcathinone. Methcathinone demonstrated higher potency than amphetamine and cathinone, supporting a structural and pharmacological analogy between these psychostimulants.
