Pirenperone effects on temperature preference and body temperature in maturing mice

The selective 5-HT2 antagonist pirenperone reduced temperature preference in young mice but did not affect body temperature. This suggests distinct mechanisms control thermoregulation and temperature selection, separable by drug action on 5-HT2 receptors.
