Aging impairs autonomic nervous system (ANS) balance, increasing sympathetic activity and reducing vagal tone. This imbalance, measured by muscle sympathetic nerve activity (MSNA) and heart rate variability (HRV), promotes inflammation and endothelial dysfunction in older adults.
