    • Data suggest filtration of unbound T4 and partial tubular reabsorption.

    Conclusions:

    • Daily urinary T4 excretion serves as a reliable indicator of thyroid function.
    • Renal handling of thyroxine involves filtration and reabsorption, warranting further investigation.
