Author Spotlight: Investigating the Key Factors of Obliterative Bronchiolitis After Lung Transplantation
Published on: November 10, 2023
Abstract:
Bronchiolitis obliterans is an uncommon and severe chronic lung disease due to lower respiratory tract injury. In our country, it is more frequent to observe it secondary to a severe viral injury, especially by Adenovirus. Bronchiolitis obliterans is characterized by partial or total occlusion of the lumen of the respiratory and terminal bronchioles by inflammatory tissue and fibrosis producing chronic obstruction of the airway. This consensus discusses the current state of knowledge in the different areas of bronchiolitis obliterans due to an infectious lesion.
