[Difficulties in extubation--example of an extubation hindrance caused by a stomach tube]

Difficulties in effecting extubation are rare incidents that are difficult to assess systematically, the reasons being often of a rather odd nature. In the example reported here a stomach tube had been responsible for extubation problems. The authors review the literature published so far on this subject.
