Summary

Accelerated hypofractionated radiotherapy with simultaneous integrated boost (SIB) is feasible for breast cancer patients, showing acceptable toxicity and good survival outcomes. This approach offers effective local control and disease-free survival.

Purpose of the Study:

  • A study included 27 patients post-breast-conserving surgery.
  • Treatment involved a 2-week schedule with 34 Gy to the breast and 40 Gy to the tumor bed (SIB) using volumetric modulated arc therapy.
