Human papillomavirus bowel colonization in inflammatory bowel disease: A comparative case control study

Human papillomavirus (HPV) ileocolonic colonization was not detected in patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). This study found no association between HPV and IBD diagnosis or disease severity, suggesting HPV is not an environmental trigger for IBD.
