Independence levels and social adjustment of poststroke patients

A study of 52 poststroke patients found that patients who lived alone reported more independence in their life-styles than those who lived with family members. Family members of male patients were more likely to experience guilt, irritation, restrictions, and relationship difficulties than family members of female patients.
