    Background:

    • Oscillopsia, a visual disturbance characterized by illusory movement of the environment, often results from nystagmus.
    • Nystagmus involves involuntary, rhythmic eye movements that can significantly impair visual acuity and stability.
    • Current treatments for nystagmus-induced oscillopsia are limited, necessitating novel therapeutic approaches.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To evaluate the efficacy of a new optical device designed for retinal image stabilization in patients experiencing oscillopsia.
    • To identify factors contributing to the success or failure of the device in this patient population.

    Main Methods:

    • A simple optical device, combining spectacles and a contact lens, was developed to achieve partial or near-complete retinal image stabilization.
    • The device was tested in 14 patients diagnosed with oscillopsia secondary to nystagmus.
    • Patient responses and visual improvements were systematically assessed.
