Lacosamide poisoning improved by hemodialysis

Lacosamide (LCM) poisoning in a young woman was successfully treated with hemodialysis. This case demonstrates hemodialysis as an effective intervention for severe LCM overdose, leading to rapid recovery.

- Following 4 hours of hemodialysis, seizure activity ceased.
- Blood Lacosamide levels significantly decreased post-hemodialysis (from 91.7 μg/mL to 18.3 μg/mL).
Implications:
- Hemodialysis is an effective treatment modality for severe Lacosamide poisoning.
- Prompt intervention with hemodialysis can lead to favorable patient outcomes in cases of significant antiepileptic drug overdose.
