Robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP) is feasible in extremely short-statured patients with congenital vertebral tip dysplasia. Surgical modifications allowed for successful RARP with outcomes comparable to standard procedures.

Background:

Robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP) is a standard treatment for localized prostate cancer.
Congenital vertebral tip dysplasia is a rare condition characterized by extreme short stature (130 cm in this case) and potential pelvic floor narrowing.

Observation:

A 72-year-old male patient with congenital vertebral tip dysplasia and type II collagen dysplasia underwent RARP for prostate cancer.
The narrow pelvic floor in short-statured individuals can pose surgical challenges, potentially increasing operative time.

Findings:

The surgical team successfully performed RARP by implementing modifications in port positioning and other adjustments.
Perioperative outcomes were comparable to those typically observed in routine RARP procedures, despite the patient's unique anatomy.
