Spontaneous clival meningocele

Spontaneous clival meningocele is a rare condition where cerebrospinal fluid protrudes through a clival defect. This case highlights a young woman with idiopathic intracranial hypertension presenting with headache, diagnosed via MRI.

Background:
- Meningoceles, particularly in the occipital bone, are uncommon.
- Nontraumatic clival meningoceles are extremely rare, involving cerebrospinal fluid herniation through clival defects.

Findings:
- Magnetic resonance imaging confirmed a clival meningocele.
- The meningocele was diagnosed without other associated complications.

- Medical surveillance is a viable management strategy for uncomplicated clival meningoceles.
