Vertical Ramus Osteotomy, Is It Still a Valid Tool in Orthognathic Surgery?

Intraoral vertical ramus osteotomy (IVRO) is a safer, simpler mandibular osteotomy for orthognathic surgery compared to sagittal split osteotomy (SSO), with fewer complications and shorter hospital stays. However, patient compliance may be lower with IVRO.
