Extradural spinal schwannomas are rare tumors. Early diagnosis and complete surgical resection of these benign nerve sheath tumors lead to an excellent prognosis.

  • This report details two adult males with symptomatic extradural thoracic schwannomas.
  • Patients presented with paraparesis, low back pain, and spasticity.
  • Spinal MRI revealed extradural mass lesions at the T1-T2 and T4-T6 levels.

Findings:

  • Extradural schwannomas, though rare, can cause significant neurological deficits.
  • Surgical resection is the primary treatment modality.
