Prophylactic mastectomy and occult malignancy: Surgical and imaging considerations

Sentinel node biopsy (SLNB) is not routinely recommended for prophylactic mastectomy (PM) due to low occult malignancy (OM) incidence. Selective SLNB may benefit specific high-risk patients.
