Summary

A new realistic 3D breast phantom was developed for digital breast tomosynthesis (DBT) to evaluate image reconstruction methods. Simultaneous algebraic reconstruction technique (SART) with 2-4 iterations showed superior microcalcification detection compared to filtered back projection (FBP).
