Abstract:
Subsequently to the publication of the above paper, the authors have realized that the image chosen to represent the 'Mimic control' experiment in Fig. 4G was inadvertently selected incorrectly; the data originated from the same source as that chosen (correctly) for the 'Inhibitor control' experiment in the same figure. The revised version of Fig. 4, now containing the correct data for the 'Mimic control' experiment in Fig. 4G, is shown below. Note that this error did not quantitatively affect either the results or the overall conclusions of this study. All the authors agree with the publication of this corrigendum, and are grateful to the Editor of Molecular Medicine Reports for allowing them the opportunity to publish this. They also wish to apologize to the readership of the Journal for any inconvenience caused. [Molecular Medicine Reports 23: 194, 2021; DOI: 10.3892/mmr.2021.11833].
Insights
This corrigendum corrects an image error in a previous study. The corrected figure does not alter the study's findings or conclusions.
Area of Science:
- Molecular Medicine
- Biomedical Research
Context:
- A previous publication in Molecular Medicine Reports contained an incorrect image for a control experiment.
- The error involved the selection of an image for the 'Mimic control' experiment.
Purpose:
- To correct an inadvertently selected image in Figure 4G.
- To provide the accurate data for the 'Mimic control' experiment.
Summary:
- The authors identified an incorrect image used for the 'Mimic control' experiment in a previously published study.
- The data for this control experiment were inadvertently sourced from the same dataset as the 'Inhibitor control' experiment.
- A revised Figure 4 is presented with the correct data for the 'Mimic control' experiment.
Impact:
- The correction does not quantitatively affect the study's results or overall conclusions.
- Ensures the accuracy and integrity of the published scientific record.
- Maintains reader confidence in the study's findings.
