    Background:

    • Current responses to institutional abuse often end at substantiation.
    • A lack of post-substantiation models limits comprehensive institutional abuse response.
    • Existing family abuse models do not fully address institutional contexts.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To introduce and demonstrate a post-substantiation model for institutional abuse.
    • To highlight the limitations of current institutional abuse response protocols.
    • To provide a framework for improved institutional abuse incident management.

    Main Methods:

    • The study introduces a novel post-substantiation model.
    • The model's effects are demonstrated through case examples or simulations.
    • Analysis focuses on the transition from investigation to ongoing management.

    Main Results:

    • The demonstrated model effectively extends response beyond substantiation.
    • Implementation of the model shows improved outcomes in managing institutional abuse.
    • The model provides a structured approach to post-substantiation care and prevention.

    Conclusions:

    • A post-substantiation model is crucial for effective institutional abuse response.
    • The demonstrated model offers a viable solution to current response gaps.
    • Further adoption of such models can enhance safety and accountability in institutions.
