    Background:

    • Emotional Styles (ES) describe consistent ways individuals manage emotional experiences.
    • The Emotional Style Questionnaire (ESQ) is a recent self-report tool for assessing ES.
    • Neurophysiological correlates of ES are needed to validate the ESQ.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To investigate spectral differences in resting-state electroencephalography (EEG) associated with individual ES.
    • To provide neurophysiological evidence supporting the psychometric reliability of the ESQ.

    Main Methods:

    • Resting-state EEG data were collected from participants.
    • Spectral analysis was performed on EEG data across different frequency bands (alpha, beta, gamma).
    • Effect sizes were calculated to determine the magnitude of differences related to ES traits.
