    Two strains of lactate dehydrogenase-elevating virus (LDV) show minor RNA differences despite distinct antigenic and neurovirulence properties. Most RNA sequences are shared, indicating close genetic relatedness between these LDV variants.

    Background:

    • Lactate dehydrogenase-elevating virus (LDV) is an important pathogen in mice.
    • Two LDV strains were isolated exhibiting differences in antigenicity and neurovirulence.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To compare the RNA of two distinct LDV strains.
    • To investigate the genetic relatedness and physical/biological properties of these LDV strains.
