Summary

Surgical decompression for migraine offers significant relief. This 11-year study shows high success rates for frontal, occipital, and temporal migraine trigger sites, with low complication rates.

Background:

Migraine treatment is evolving, with surgical interventions being a recent development.
This study focuses on the surgical management of migraine.

Purpose of the Study:

To describe surgical techniques for migraine.
To report an 11-year experience with migraine surgery.

Main Methods:

Performed 527 migraine decompression surgeries between June 2011 and December 2021.
Targeted frontal, occipital, and temporal migraine trigger sites.

Main Results:

High positive response rates: 95% for occipital, 87% for frontal, and 88% for temporal sites.
Complete recovery rates varied: 86% (occipital), 32% (frontal), and 50% (temporal).
