Five patients on continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD) developed hydrothorax due to pleuroperitoneal communication. Surgical resection of the diaphragmatic communication via video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) is effective in preventing recurrence.
