    Background:

    • Lumbar disc reherniation is a common cause of persistent back pain after surgery.

    • To evaluate the ability of CT scans to differentiate between lumbar disc reherniation and extradural scarring.
    • To identify distinct imaging characteristics of perineural fibrosis in patients with lumbar disc reherniation versus scarring.

    • Retrospective review of computed tomograms (CT) in eight patients.
    • Patients had undergone surgery for presumed lumbar disc reherniation.
