Intraoperative sentinel node biopsy, is it worth the wait?

Waiting for selective sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB) results can reduce operating room time. A high percentage of patients did not require additional axillary lymph node dissection (ALND) after SLNB.

- Deferred SLNB results can decrease anesthesia time and operating room occupancy.
- A significant percentage of patients avoid unnecessary additional procedures by awaiting SLNB results.
