NPs are in an ideal position to educate patients on the lifelong implications of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). A timely diagnosis and comprehensive plan are needed to appropriately manage patients with PCOS. This article highlights diagnostic criteria, common comorbid conditions, psychological impacts of the clinical manifestations, management approaches, and implications for NPs.
