    Area of Science:

    • Gastroenterology
    • Oncology
    • Internal Medicine

    Background:

    • Gastrointestinal polyps can present with diverse and severe systemic symptoms.
    • Understanding the link between polyp burden and protein-losing enteropathy is crucial.

    Observation:

    • A 53-year-old male presented with multiple polyps in the stomach, duodenum, colon, and rectum.
    • Clinical manifestations included severe diarrhea, significant protein loss, and hair and nail shedding.

    Findings:

    • The patient exhibited a severe form of protein-losing enteropathy associated with extensive gastrointestinal polyposis.
    • Despite medical interventions and nutritional support, the condition proved fatal.

    Implications:

    • This case highlights the potential for widespread polyposis to cause life-threatening gastrointestinal dysfunction.
    • Further research into the pathogenesis and management of severe polyp-associated enteropathies is warranted.
