Epistaxis, or nosebleeds, occurs when small, swollen blood vessels in the nasal mucous membrane rupture. Typically, the anterior septum is the primary site of occurrence.

Summary

Trauma-induced hemorrhage in the septum pellucidum, a rare brain injury, was identified 12 hours after head trauma. This finding is novel, as previous literature associated such bleeding primarily with tumors.
