    Background:

    • A mother and her four children exhibited significant generalized joint laxity, frequent dislocations/subluxations, moderate skin hyperextensibility, and mild connective tissue fragility.
    • The affected individuals also presented with wormian bones in their skulls, a feature not typically associated with EDS Type III or familial hypermobility disorders.
    • The severity of articular complications in this family exceeded that usually seen in EDS Type III.

    Findings:

    • The clinical presentation suggests a distinct, undelineated connective tissue disorder.
    • The presence of wormian bones alongside severe joint laxity differentiates this condition from established hypermobility syndromes.
    • Molecular characterization is currently underway to elucidate the underlying genetic basis.

    Implications:

    • This case highlights the potential for novel connective tissue disorders with unique phenotypic presentations.
    • Further molecular investigation is essential to define this condition and its genetic etiology.
    • Understanding this disorder may expand the diagnostic criteria for inherited connective tissue diseases.
