Diabetic retinopathy as a predictor for peripheral compression neuropathies, a registry-based study

Diabetic retinopathy increases the risk of carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) and ulnar nerve entrapment (UNE), particularly in type 1 diabetes. Diabetes duration and HbA1c levels are key contributing factors to these nerve complications.
