Background:

Bleomycin is an antineoplastic agent used in chemotherapy.
Flagellate dermatitis is a rare but distinctive adverse reaction to bleomycin.
The incidence of flagellate dermatitis has decreased due to reduced bleomycin usage.

Observation:

A 30-year-old female with ovarian germ cell tumour received chemotherapy including bleomycin, etoposide, and cisplatin (BEP).
The patient developed a widespread rash consistent with classic flagellate dermatitis.
The rash presented with characteristic whip-like, linear streaks.

Findings:

The case highlights the recurrence of flagellate dermatitis despite decreased bleomycin use.
The patient's presentation confirmed the characteristic clinical features of this adverse event.
Prompt identification of the dermatological complication was noted.

Implications:

This report underscores the importance of recognizing flagellate dermatitis in patients on bleomycin.
Awareness facilitates timely diagnosis and management of this transient side effect.
Managing dermatological complications improves patient care during chemotherapy.
