Association between ALT/AST and Muscle Mass in Patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus

The alanine aminotransferase/aspartate aminotransferase (ALT/AST) ratio is negatively associated with muscle mass in individuals with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). This finding suggests a link between liver enzymes and muscle health in this population.
