Visual assessment of fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) distribution heterogeneity in pulmonary lesions can differentiate benign from malignant cases. This method accurately distinguishes lung cancer from inflammatory lesions using positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) scans.
