Adhesive assisted TiB2 coating effects on friction stir welded joints

This study introduces an adhesive-assisted technique for friction stir welding (FSW) aluminum alloy joints. Coating edges with TiB2 significantly enhances tensile and flexural strength, along with hardness, improving joint properties.

- This technique offers a viable solution to reinforcement loss in FSW, but trade-offs in other mechanical properties need consideration.
