Relationship between image information content and observer performance in digital intraoral radiography

Improved cluster signal-to-noise (CSN) analysis provides an observer-free method to assess dental radiograph image quality. The area under the ROC curve (AUC) from CSN analysis strongly correlates with human observer performance.
