[Ureteral obstruction caused by a grenade splinter].

    Summary

    A 59-year-old patient experienced acute ureteric obstruction and pyonephrosis 40 years after a wartime shell-splinter injury. Surgical removal of the splinter led to normal kidney function and symptom resolution within a year.
