Background:

  • Prurigo nodularis (PN) is a chronic inflammatory skin disease characterized by intensely itchy, hyperkeratotic nodules.
  • Typical PN distribution involves symmetrical involvement of the trunk and extremities.

Observation:

  • A 26-year-old male presented with numerous itchy nodules solely on his hands and feet.
  • The trunk and other extremities were notably unaffected by the lesions.

Findings:

  • Histopathological examination confirmed the nodules as consistent with Prurigo nodularis.
  • This represents the first documented case of PN exhibiting an exclusively acral distribution.

Implications:

  • This unique presentation expands the known clinical spectrum of Prurigo nodularis.
