    Background:

    • Transitional cell carcinoma (TCC) is the most common type of bladder cancer.
    • Understanding the cell kinetics and cytogenetic profile of TCC is crucial for prognosis and treatment strategies.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To investigate the cell kinetics of transitional cell carcinoma of the bladder.
    • To correlate cell proliferation with histologic grade and cytogenetic alterations.

    Main Methods:

    • In vitro 3H-thymidine labeling index was used to assess cell kinetics in 35 patients.
    • Cytogenetic analysis was performed on 15 cases.
    • Correlation between cell kinetics, histologic grade, and cytogenetic findings was analyzed.
