Summary

Lung cancer screening with low-dose chest computed tomography (LDCT) detects early-stage cancers in rural populations at rates similar to nonrural areas. Outcomes for rural patients diagnosed with early-stage lung cancer are comparable, suggesting LDCT can improve rural lung cancer survival.
